A proposed school censorship bill was defeated

SB33, would have allowed a single person to remove "harmful" materials from public schools district-wide. Although it was passed by the house with an amendment, overwhelming community response urged the NH Senators to vote “Non-Concur,” effectively killing the bill.

An alternative-to-marriage law was struck down

HB1615, an alternative-to-marriage law was ruled ITL (inexpedient to legislate). Although some claimed this wasn’t an attack on marriage equality, one of the bill’s co-sponsors tried to sneak in the exact language on an unrelated bill originally meant to protect marriage equality. Their efforts were thwarted.
