603 Equality’s Statement on the 2024 Election Results
With this week’s election of Donald Trump as president and Kelly Ayotte as New Hampshire’s governor, we want to let everyone know that 603 Equality is still here, advocating for the rights and well-being of the LGBTQIA+ community in our state. We have not, and will not, give up the fight.
We know that a lot of us are experiencing uncertainty and concern with the direction our country and state are going. However, we all must remain steadfast and proactive in protecting our community. When it comes to traversing this future political landscape, we must trust ourselves and each other. It is critical for us to rely on our collective wisdom and experiences during this widespread distrust towards our institutions and its leaders. We can build resilience against the harmful rhetoric and policies that may come our way by fostering trust with our community, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and anyone else who is our ally.
603 Equality remains dedicated to protecting and increasing the rights of LGBTQIA+ individuals in New Hampshire, despite any adversities that may come our way. We will work closely with our allies, engage in constructive dialogue with residents of the state, and take action to guarantee that our community’s voices are heard.
Working together, we will navigate this new political era like we always do, with resilience, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to equality and justice.
